I’ve been in residential construction most of my adult life. If an inspector doesn’t know how a house is built, how can they inspect it properly? I’m sorry, but you can’t learn this trade from taking a 40 hour class which is the requirement here in Nevada. They need practical experience. I recommend asking as much information as you can about the inspector before hiring and then make that educated decision on whether to hire or not. Don’t forget, this is the biggest investment you’ll ever make. It shouldn’t be left up to just anyone.
